Tweakers of the Bourgeois Core,

No matter how diverse we like to pretend society is, everything comes down to the same few principles and trends. Every group claims to want to increase its size but they never want to do so at a cost. They want to be popular but they only want to add non-dissenting members to their group, they want indulgent clowns at their immediacy and they want quiet, reliable followers in the distance. Nobody ought to threaten the centre clique, if one chooses to do so, they must be prepared to be rounded upon by closed-minded sycophants. In reality, those at the centre will act the same regardless of the size of their group. They have to try to expand the group but they never really want to.
The goal is always to gain enough respect from the clique such that disputes can be raised without harm for position and reputation. Only then might change be considered. It's easier to start a riot.
